Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri J.P. Nadda convened a high-level meeting on July 1, 2026, to evaluate Delhi’s readiness for the dengue season. Officials briefed him on the national and Delhi-specific disease trends, along with an action plan covering surveillance, vector control, case detection, and clinical care.

The session also examined progress on India’s eight-point dengue control framework, the “Octalogue,” spanning surveillance, treatment protocols, vector management, outbreak handling, training, public messaging, coordination among departments, and monitoring.

Nadda noted that current case numbers and fatality rates remain low but urged continued caution ahead of the peak monsoon months. He directed authorities to boost fever and entomological surveillance, keep hospitals stocked with beds, blood supplies, and medicines, activate rapid-response units, and ensure prompt case reporting through IHIP-VBD. He also called for stronger coordination across civic bodies and an expanded public outreach drive—termed “Jan Chetna through Jan Bhagidari”—involving resident groups, schools, and community leaders during July’s Anti-Dengue Month.

Senior officials from Delhi’s government, AIIMS, and major hospitals attended the review.
