Solaris Pharma has launched brivaracetam tablets — the generic equivalent of UCB’s Briviact® — marking a notable pivot for a company long anchored in dermatological and topical products.
The tablets are available in 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg strengths in 60-count bottles, and are indicated for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients one month of age and older.
Solaris described the launch as its first Schedule V controlled product, calling it a move that “paves the way for success and growth in the company while helping serve an under-serviced portion of the population.”
The timing is significant. Generic brivaracetam tablets have not yet launched broadly in the U.S., leaving most epilepsy patients paying brand-name prices. Solaris enters a market where access — not clinical efficacy — has been the persistent problem.
