Merck Group has officially inaugurated its new, cutting-edge Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Electronic City, Bengaluru. Spanning an impressive 17,000 square metres, the integrated facility consolidates approximately 3,300 cross-functional professionals across data, digital, process, and technology functions under a single unified hub.
The state-of-the-art campus marks a significant expansion, positioning India as Merck’s fourth-largest global workforce hub, following Germany, the United States, and China. The facility houses the company’s largest concentration of Digital Enterprise Solutions capabilities. These specialized teams are tasked with designing, building, and executing enterprise-wide digital solutions that power global R&D, manufacturing, supply chains, and commercial operations across geographies.
“The Merck Global Capability Centre is much more than an operational hub; it is a strategic engine for our digital enterprise,” said Alessandro De Luca, Head of Digital Enterprise Solutions and Group CIO at Merck. “By bringing data, technology, and process teams under one roof, we are strengthening the foundation needed to scale innovation faster, improve agility, and deliver greater results.” The modern ecosystem features innovation labs, collaborative workspaces, and dedicated neurodiversity zones, building on Merck’s nearly six-decade legacy of presence in India.
