Government Alerts Public : Paracetamol Not Banned

PharmaGenDRx News Bureau – 6th August, 2025

11:00 AM IST

Addressing the rumors about Paracetamol being banned, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has issued an official press release on 5th August 2025, clarified that Paracetamol is indeed not banned. The ministry however has finalized that certain fixed-dose medicaments have been restricted and the list include formulations where Paracetamol is combined with other drugs.

This information was provided by the Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Smt. Anupriya Patel, in the Rajya Sabha on 5th August 2025, in response to a question regarding the status of Paracetamol.

This step was taken along the notices that dealt with the press release addressing price controls of various over the counter drugs.

The public is instructed to only trust official sources without relying on unverified information regarding such bans or restrictions.
