J P Nadda Speaks on TB Prevention at Geneva Global Health Summit

India reinforced its commitment to tuberculosis prevention and stronger lung health screening as Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed a key side-event on “Ministerial Perspectives on Lung Health Screening” during the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva.

Speaking at the global gathering, the minister highlighted India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen early detection of tuberculosis and improve access to timely screening for lung-related diseases. He emphasized that preventive healthcare and wider screening remain essential in reducing the burden of TB and improving long-term public health outcomes.

The discussion, organized alongside the World Health Assembly, brought together health leaders and policymakers to exchange strategies for improving lung health worldwide. India’s participation highlighted its continued focus on advancing TB elimination efforts while supporting global collaboration on public health priorities. The address also reflected the country’s broader commitment to building accessible and preventive healthcare systems for communities across the nation and beyond.
