Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has announced the launch of Obeda®, its oral semaglutide tablet for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes in India. The once-daily tablet is expected to improve accessibility and convenience for millions of patients managing diabetes across the country.

The launch marks another major step in Dr. Reddy’s expanding GLP-1 therapy portfolio and follows the company’s recent semaglutide injection introductions in India and Canada. Available in 3 mg, 7 mg, and 14 mg strengths, Obeda® has been approved by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) after successful Phase III clinical studies conducted in India.

According to the company, the therapy offers effective blood sugar control along with added flexibility for patients who prefer oral medication over injections. With India witnessing a sharp rise in diabetes cases, the launch is expected to strengthen access to advanced yet affordable diabetes care solutions for patients nationwide.
