In a landmark move to fortify India’s primary healthcare ecosystem, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, launched the Integrated Training for Primary Healthcare Teams during the 10th National Summit on “Innovation and Inclusivity.”

This initiative marks a decisive shift from fragmented, program-specific capacity building to a single, competency-driven framework. By consolidating multiple trainings into one cohesive model, the Ministry is empowering the “Frontline Trio”,ASHAs, ANMs, and Community Health Officers(CHOs)to deliver comprehensive, people-centeredcare at the last mile.

The framework strengthens Ayushman Arogya Mandirs as the fulcrum of preventive and curative care. It equips providers with the skills for early detection, treatment, and follow-up, reducing the burden on tertiary hospitals. Furthermore, the initiative leverages the iGOT Karmayogi digital platform to ensure the workforce remains future-ready through continuous learning.

A cornerstone of this reform is its commitment to Nari Shakti. With women comprising over 70% of the frontline workforce, this investment empowers female health leaders to drive transformative change. This strategic evolution is central to the vision of a Viksit Bharat @2047, ensuring healthcare is equitable, responsive, and accessible to all.
