The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Mohali, has signed a formal collaboration agreement with Novartis Healthcare Private Limited, marking a significant step towards strengthening industry academic ties in pharmaceutical research. The agreement was signed in the presence of Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, who stretched the importance of moving such partnerships from pilot stages to scalable impact driven initiatives that addresses genuine healthcare needs.
The partnership brings all 7 NIPER institutes into a unified framework aligned with India’s broader pharmaceutical innovation goals. On 15th April 2026, faculty members collectively submitted 42 research proposals for consideration. Following a rigorous evaluation process one proposal earned the prestigious Development Pioneer grant, recognizing its potential for real-world application and scientific merit.
The initiative is designed to ensure academic research remains application-driven and grounded in clinical relevance, fostering the next generation of pharmaceutical innovators. The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders including Avadhesh Kumar Chaudhary, Kini Singh, Dulal Panda, and senior leadership from Novartis.
