The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) under the Directorate General of Health Services has issued a nationwide alert following the theft of multiple drug consignments belonging to M/s Novo Nordisk during transit from its Bhiwandi hub to Nagpur, Raipur, Cuttack and Kolkata.

The stolen products include popular drugs Insulin and Semaglutide. These are rDNA origin injectables requiring strict storage conditions to maintain its stability. Any compromise with standardized conditions could affect patient safety.

CDSCO has urged patients and consumers to procure these medicines only from authorized sources with a valid invoice. Doctors and healthcare professionals are asked to prescribe cautiously and report any adverse drug reactions. State and Union Territory drug regulators have been directed to take necessary action under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act,1940 if any discrepancies are found during surveillance.
