The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) successfully executed “Operation Vajra,” seizing a massive export consignment of 120 million (12 crore) high-strength Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets. The contraband, weighing approximately 30 metric tons, was found out at a warehouse in Delhi before it could be diverted into international channels.

The 250 mg tablets commercially labeled as “Royal-250” and notoriously known as the “fighter drug” were  destined for Guinea-Bissau. However, risk-based export profiling and international intelligence coordination revealed that the declared destination was misrepresented, masking a planned diversion to active conflict zones in Libya.

Following the interception, coordinated enforcement actions across multiple states led to the arrest of three key conspirators under the NDPS Act, 1985. The apprehended suspects include a firm director from Bengaluru and two principal operators captured in Kochi, Kerala.

Executed with critical support from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), this operation underscores India’s regulatory resolve to safeguard global pharmaceutical supply chains and dismantle organized cross-border trafficking networks in alignment with the Nasha Mukt Bharat vision.
