The Union Health Ministry has completed a two-day National Training of Trainers covering all five categories of primary healthcare staff at Ayushman ArogyaMandirs, hosted at the National Health Systems Resource Centre in Delhi. Additional Secretary and National Health Mission Director Aradhana Patnaik opened the event, calling for a well-trained, quality workforce at public health centres and backing a decentralised, cadre-wise approach to training. From August 2026, she noted, the programme will cascade nationwide through over 100 designated Regional Training Institutes. Patnaik also called for tighter coordination between health schemes and urged trainers to build empathy and communication skills alongside technical know-how.
The effort builds on the Integrated Training Strategy unveiled by Health Minister J.P. Nadda at April’s National Summit on Best Practices in Chandigarh, targeting Medical Officers, Staff Nurses, CHOs, ANMs and ASHAs. Over 110 trainers took part in hands-on sessions at the NIHFW Skill Lab. Senior officials from DGHS, NMC, and Mission Karmayogi Bharat also attended.
