IPA Bengal Observes International Rational Use of Medicines Day 2026, Urges ‘Prescribe with Purpose, Use with Care’

The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Bengal Branch, in association with the IPA Bengal Pharma and Healthcare Trust, observed International Rational Use of Medicine Day by organizing a seminar at the IPA Auditorium under the theme, “Prescribe with Purpose, Use with Care.”

The seminar addressed pressing concerns in current prescription practices, including irrational prescribing habits, unnecessary antibiotic use, incompatible drug combinations, and the growing menace of self medication. Dr Subhash C Mandal, National Hon. General secretary IPA spoke on “What, Why & how RUM” while Dr Shantanu Tripathi, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Universal College of Medical Sciences & Teaching Hospital, Nepal, addressed “Rational use of medicines in India today-Relevance stakeholders and ther responsibilities”.

Dr MP Rana, President, IPA Bengal branch said this initiative aims to build a healthy nation through safe and responsible meditation practices.
