The Government recently clarified that no additional tariffs have been imposed by the United States on Indian exports in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals and electronics.

Effective from August 7, a reciprocal tariff of 25 per cent has been applied to select goods exported from India, covering approximately 55 per cent of the total value of merchandise exports to the U.S. It was also lso mentioned that form 27 August an additional ad valorem duty at the same rate will come, as per a written reply to Lok sabha by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada.

To assess the impact and explore mitigation measures government is actively discussing the same with industry professionals and share holders. Current India–U.S. bilateral trade agreement discussions aim to ensure tariff stability, promote long-term predictability, and strengthen economic ties.
