Advancing Cancer Care: India and BIMSTEC Join hands for a Healthier Tomorrow

In a significant step toward strengthening regional health cooperation, India hosted senior Physicians, researchers and policymakers from BIMSTEC countries at the National Cancer Grid (NCG) annual meeting held on August 2 and 3,2025 at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

The event marks the fulfillment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment at the 6th BIMSTEC summit to support member nations in building cancer care capacities. 

Discussions were made on collaborative initiatives, virtual tumor boards, strengthening cancer registries which highlighted NCG’s wide network improving cancer care with partnering countries. It successfully demonstrated India’s leadership in healthcare diplomacy, 

India remains committed to working closely with BIMSTEC partners under the “Neighbourhood First” and “Act east” policies, ensuring shared progress in health and wellbeing, issued by MoHFW, India.
