Odisha, the Next Pharmaceutical Powerhouse: CM Majhi Unveils his Vision

In his 79th Independence Day address, chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled an ambitious roadmap to transform Odisha into India’s next Pharmaceutical powerhouse. He reaffirmed that the state is ready to welcome leading national and international pharmaceutical companies aiming to position Odisha as a centre of excellence for research, innovation driven manufacturing.

The initiative is expected to generate more than 2.5 Lakh jobs creating new opportunities for youth while driving economic growth. The Minister also underscored governments commitment towards healthcare development and highlighted the integration of Ayushman Bharat, Jana Arogya yojana and various other schemes extending health coverage to over 82% of Odisha’s population.Further strengthening healthcare infrastructure the state will upgrade Berhampur Medical College to AIIMS-plus standards and add 2250 budget beds across major medical institutions to benefit patient attendants.

According to CM Majhi Odisha is poised to enter a new era of growth where world class pharmaceutical infrastructure will go hand in hand with stronger healthcare access.The global pharma conclave will provide a platform for policymakers, industry leaders and academia to collaborate reinforcing Odisha’s vision to emerge as a leading Pharmaceutical hub of India.
