Novo Nordisk (Novo Nordisk A/S) the Danish multinational pharmaceutical major, earlier this week announced that the company had identified an IT security incident involving unauthorised access to a limited number of internal IT systems. After learning about the incident, the company had launched an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts, and the company is in contact with the relevant authorities.
Immediately after the incident company had taken multiple security measures including temporarily taking certain internal IT systems offline to protect the overall IT infrastructure. With the help of competent authorities, the company is working to bring the affected systems back online in a controlled and safe manner; however, this process requires time.
All though, as per repots the core business operations of the company was not impacted with this attack, remains up and running normally.
According to the compnay, the cyber-attack effects certain non-public data, including personal data, which were copied externally without authorisation. Company informed the impacted parties as appropriate.
The breach highlights the growing vulnerability of global healthcare organizations to cyber threats, raising concerns about data integrity, operational continuity, and patient trust.
