The National Health Authority concluded its two-day Chintan Shivir on Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, held July 17–18, 2026, in New Delhi. The gathering brought together health ministry officials, state agencies, and partner organisations to assess implementation progress and plan future priorities.

Day two centred on fiscal sustainability, bolstering public hospitals, and expanding AI and analytics capabilities within the digital health system. Fifteen states and union territories received recognition for standout results in card issuance, biometric verification, health registry completion, and ABHA enrolment.

Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava noted both schemes have become foundational to India’s healthcare framework, urging broader adoption while stressing data security and public trust. Sessions also covered claims-based hospital financing through the National Health Claims Exchange, AI applications in clinical and administrative workflows, and integration of medical college systems with ABDM standards.

NHA CEO Sunil Kumar Barnwal called the event a valuable platform for states and the Centre to exchange lessons, describing it as a foundation for the schemes’ continued expansion nationwide.
