Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., a leading global lifeciences company, and Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd. (SHL), a premier healthcare marketing and distribution firm, have officially exchanged a definitive agreement to establish a strategic joint venture company, Zydus Sunshine Lifesciences Ltd. 

The new entity marks a significant milestone in expanding advanced healthcare access across Sri Lanka. By leveraging Zydus Lifesciences’ extensive global product portfolio, robust research capabilities, and manufacturing excellence alongside Sunshine Healthcare Lanka’s deep market penetration, countrywide distribution infrastructure, and localized commercial expertise, the partnership aims to bring high-quality, innovative, and affordable therapeutic solutions to Sri Lankan patients.

Dr. T. Sayandhan announced the collaboration, noting that the joint venture will focus on bridging critical gaps in the country’s current healthcare system by introducing specialized formulations across multiple key therapeutic segments. This long-term synergy highlights both companies’ mutual commitment to transforming patient outcomes and driving sustainable growth in the South Asian pharmaceutical sector.

Operations for Zydus Sunshine Lifesciences Ltd. will commence immediately under a joint management structure.
