Insilico Medicine and SK Biopharmaceuticals have announced a strategic global research and development collaboration at the BIO 2026 International Convention. The partnership aims to discover innovative, AI-enabled drug candidates targeting neuroimmune disorders of the central nervous system (CNS), with a total potential deal value exceeding $2.5 billion.
Under the agreement, Insilico will leverage its proprietary Pharma.AI platform which spans target validation, generative chemistry, and molecule optimization alongside its preclinical expertise to design novel candidates. SK Biopharmaceuticals will steer late-stage clinical development and global commercialization, utilizing its established infrastructure.
Neuroimmune diseases present immense therapeutic hurdles and low historical success rates. This alliance seeks to compress early discovery timelines by uniting advanced AI with deep neuroscience expertise.
Financially, Insilico is eligible for up to $18 million in upfront and near-term milestone payments. The deal also includes extensive regulatory and commercial milestones, plus single-digit royalties on eventual net sales. This transaction marks the largest partnership by total potential value that Insilico has secured with an Asia-Pacific partner to date.
