The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has notified ceiling prices for 30 essential fixed-dose combination medicines under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013, with the new rates taking effect from May 27, 2026. The order was officially published in Gazette of India under the drugs prices order 2013.
The regulated medicines cover some of the most commonly prescribed categories, heart disease, diabetes, infection, pain, management, and vitamin deficiencies. Highlights include Bisoprolol and Amlodipine at ₹7.312- ₹9.40 per tablet ; diabetes triple combination Sitagliptin ,Glimepiride and Metformin at ₹10.39 -11.91 , antibiotic suspension product Cefpodoxime and potassium clavulanate at ₹3.652 – 5.744 ml and the Paracetamol combination for cold and fever at Rs. 5.15 per tablet.
All prices are exclusive of the GST and legally binding on every manufacturer and marketing company name official schedule.
This move is aimed at making combination therapy often pricier than single drug medicine, affordable for every patient across India.
