Global Collaboration to Drive India’s MedTech Vision: Says Shri Amit Agrawal

Addressing a regional meet on “Health Research and Innovation in Public Health”, Shri Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals emphasized that “health knows no boundaries” and highlighted the importance of joint efforts among South and SouthEast Asian nations to build resilient healthcare systems. With this India set to position itself as a global MedTech hub focusing on stronger cross-border collaboration, innovation and accessibility.

The government is advancing MedTech through initiatives such as medical device parks, ICMR’s MedTech Mitra and Patent Mitra and clinical trial support schemes. Specialised medical device courses offered at NIPERs now open to foreign nationals are equipping skilled manpower for the sector.

With digital technologies driving healthcare from hospitals to homes India’s vision combines affordability with innovation, The regional Research Platform is expected to further strengthen cooperation making Asia a powerhouse of MedTech growth.
