The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lao PDR’s Food and Drug Department and Ministry of Health, marking a significant step in India’s growing influence over global medicine quality standards.
The agreement was formalized at the 10th India–Lao PDR Joint Commission Meeting, co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, underscoring the strategic depth of bilateral healthcare ties.
With Lao PDR onboard, the Indian Pharmacopoeia now holds formal recognition across 24 countries — a testament to the world’s growing confidence in India’s regulatory and scientific frameworks.
This milestone reinforces India’s position as a trusted global authority in ensuring medicines are safe, effective, and quality-assured.
India is not just manufacturing medicines for the world — it is now setting the standard for them.
