Novo Nordisk and Amazon Web Services (AWS)  announced a strategic partnership to accelerate drug discovery and modernize Novo Nordisk’s technology infrastructure using agentic AI and cloud computing.

The agreement establishes AWS as Novo Nordisk’s preferred cloud provider and strategic AI partner, bringing together deep therapeutic expertise in chronic diseases with world-leading cloud infrastructure and life sciences tools. As part of the collaboration, the companies have created a dedicated AI co-innovation hub at Novo Nordisk’s London facility, co-locating AWS engineers, AI specialists, and applied scientists with Novo Nordisk R&D teams to compress the timeline from drug target identification to the first human dose.

The partnership utilizes advanced cloud and AI services, such as Amazon Bio Discovery and Amazon Bedrock, to identify drug targets, design therapies faster, and integrate genomic, imaging, and clinical datasets to optimize clinical trial design. Novo Nordisk will also leverage Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to streamline enterprise operations through autonomous AI agents.

Building on an existing relationship that has already reduced clinical documentation time and boosted productivity for over 25,000 employees, Novo Nordisk is additionally collaborating across broader Amazon health platforms including Amazon Pharmacy, Amazon Ads, and Amazon One Medical to transform how new therapies are marketed and delivered to patients globally.
