Marking a key alert in national drug safety the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) along with various State Drug Testing Laboratories have identified over 100 drug batches as Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) for June 2025 including commonly used medications like Pantoprazole, Paracetamol, Telmisartan, Rabeprazole, Azithromycin Suspension, Calamine lotion and multiple other injections from trusted manufacturers.
Discrepancies found in product sterility, assay levels, dissolution, presence of contamination and labeling. Manufactured by trusted firms across Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and other pharma hubs raising concerns about manufacturing practices and regulatory oversight.
CDSCO as per its monthly surveillance alerts consumers, pharmacists and healthcare professionals and is urged to refer to the official NSQ list on the CDSCO portal and immediately report any suspected substandard drugs to ensure patient safety.
