The Government of India formally launched the curtain raiser for the upcoming Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026, scheduled to take place from October 27 to 29, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The landmark national event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Organized under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India and coordinated by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) alongside 13 key ministries and departments, ESTIC 2026 embodies a unified “Whole of Government” approach to advance India’s strategic research and technology ecosystem.
Anchored by the central theme “Creative Minds CatalyzingScience, Empowering Technologies,” the conclave spans 12 interdisciplinary pillars designed to address pressing societal challenges and industrial transformation. Key thematic tracks include semiconductors, quantum communication, generative and physical AI, space exploration, deep-sea ocean sciences, clean energy systems, synthetic biology, and advanced healthcare.
The three-day conclave features addresses by three Nobel Laureates—Prof. Joachim Frank (Chemistry, 2017), Sir Richard J. Roberts (Physiology or Medicine, 1993), and Prof. Konstantin Novoselov (Physics, 2010) alongside global technology executives and leading academic innovators. The event will host more than 3,000 delegates, spotlighting over 1,200 young researchers and innovators under age 45, while an expansive technology exhibition will feature 150 deep-tech startups and national laboratory innovations, with dedicated public access days to foster scientific engagement.
During the conclave, the government will unveil the STI Vision Document 2047, charting an actionable, long-term roadmap to establish India as a global science and technology leader by the nation’s centenary of independence.
