The Gujarat State Pharmacy Council (GSPC), in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), has officially launched a dedicated “Pharmacovigilance & Medicine Safety” section on its official website.

This joint initiative aims to promote medicine safety, raise pharmacovigilance awareness, and simplify the reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) among pharmacists, healthcare professionals, students, and the general public. Coordinated by the IPC, the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) monitors drug safety profiles to safeguard public health across the region.

Serving as a comprehensive digital resource, the new portal offers direct access and purchase links for the National Formulary of India (NFI), real-time drug safety alerts issued under the PvPI, and a scan-to-report ADR Monitoring System (ADRMS) QR code. It also hosts a list of active ADR Monitoring Centres (AMCs) in Gujarat alongside multilingual reporting forms designed for both professionals and consumers.

GSPC President Mr. Bharatbhai Patel and Additional Registrar Mr. G. C. Macwan urge all registered pharmacists, institutions, and healthcare professionals to actively utilize this platform. By championing the rational use of medicines and consistently reporting suspected adverse reactions, stakeholders will play a proactive role in strengthening patient safety.
